WEC 39 Brown vs Garcia

Champ Mike Brown vs. Leonard Garcia for the WEC featherweight title. World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) announced its next offering over the weekend on the heels of its first show of the New Year just last night.

WEC 39: “Brown vs. Garcia” is a packed 11-fight card that is scheduled for the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, on March 1. It’s the first time ever that the Zuffa-owned promotion will stage an event in the “Lone Star State.”

Featherweight champion Mike Thomas Brown will put his newly-won 145-pound belt on the line for the first time ever against the scrappy number one contender, Leonard “Bad Boy” Garcia.

That’s not the only title fight on tap – 170-pound stalwart Carlos Condit is back in action in a rematch against Brock Larson. It will be the second opportunity for Larson to try and pry the championship gold from the clutches of the “Natural Born Killer.”

Brown shocked many people by knocking out Faber in the first round and claiming the Featherweight title.

Leonard Garcia defeats Jens Pulver at WEC 36 to give him the well deserved title shot against Mike Brown at WEC 39.

Carlos Condit defeats Brock Larson in there first fight . A good example why he is know as The Natural Born Killer.

Brock Larson walks through Erik Apple at WEC 26. Larson looks to revenge his loss by defeating Carlos Condit at WEC 39 for the Welterweight Championship.
